Paleo Diet
What is the paleo diet? A new and innovative form of eating is the paleo diet. Basically it's a way of eating similar to the way our ancestors ate, without any refined sugar, gluten, preservatives. It also does not allow processed food, and certain starches. According to many in the nutrition field it is the only right way to eat. It is sometimes referred to as the "caveman" diet or the "Stone Age" diet.
I have included some paleo diet recipes in this section to appeal to those who follow this diet. I am currently working with a dietitian to increase the offerings of easy paleo recipes.
This diet is somewhat flexible, in that it allows you to splurge with 3 non-paleo meals a week. So, once/week you can have a glass of wine, YAY! I don't think our ancestors were sipping a Pinot Grigio on a Friday night, but there is archaeological evidence of fermented drinks in ancient times.
The diet includes food items like blueberries and avocados, two of my very favorite things to eat.
