cannellini beans
Cannellini beans have a silky texture, and nutty taste. They are very popular in American cuisine. I love to use them when I make white chili, or in a bean salad.
Sometimes they are referred to as white kidney beans. They are widely used in minestrone. As with any bean, cannellini beans are high in protein, low in fat, and a great source of fiber.
They originate from Argentina where they were grown by the Italian immigrants, and eventually they made their way back to Italy.
