cashews
So, where do cashews come from? Well, they are actually kind of an appendage of a tropical fruit that is almost heart-shaped.
Most of the cashews sold in supermarkets come from India and Africa; but, the tree is native to Brazil. In their natural state they are sort of a greenish color, and poisonous. When they are roasted they obtain their brownish color.
Cashews are often found in the cuisine of Southeast Asia. I absolutely love to snack on them. As a nut they are high in magnesium and vitamin E.
