hazelnuts
Hazelnuts are sometimes referred to as filberts. They are a good source of vitamin E, healthy fats, and other vitamins.
They have a sweet taste, grow in shrubs, and mostly in temperate climates. It's the main ingredient in Nutella, that wonderfully sinful spread that we all know and love.
Their cultivation dates back to 6,000 BC. In 1995, in Scotland, a pit was discovered that contained hundreds of thousands of hazelnuts shells. This discovery was one of a kind.
