    Latin American Art

We have a small collection of Latin American art and we try to pick up a piece here and there when we are traveling.  Our favorite type of art in this genre are "primitives"  with their bright bold colors and unique style.  If we get a lot of comments and question we might start offering some pieces for sale.

These three paintings below are very large pieces we bought in Panama back in the late 1990's from a street vendor near the canal.  We basically rolled these up in a tube, packed them in our luggage and framed them when we arrived back in the USA.

Some other examples of some art from Honduras is a bit more subdued primitive with bold outlines and softer colors.  Many of these are painted on denim which is sometimes easier for the artist to find than canvas.
